Murphy Rebel
The Murphy Rebel is a homebuilt airplane offered by Murphy Aircraft. It is substantially smaller than the Moose, although produced by the same company.
Comparisons to the DeHavilland Beaver are inevitable because Dick Hiscock, one of the original designers of the Beaver, scaled the Beaver’s size down to form the design for the Rebel.
The Rebel takes engines from 90 hp. Rotaxs to 160 hp Lycomings. The Rebel is a good STOL plane and its performance can rate from adequate to fantastic, depending upon engine installation. The Rebel can be fitted with wheels, floats or skis.
