Sky Crane Helicopter

The Sky Crane helicopter was once operated in good numbers by the U.S. Army and Army National Guard (now retired). In civilian hands the Sky Crane is exceedingly rare. Most are used for heavy lifting or firefighting. Erickson Air-Crane now owns the right to manufacture these large helicopters. They were initially developed by Sikorsky.

Shooting from a helicopter in Alaska this video shows some of the work of the skycrane. The landscape is breath taking.
