The Grumman Widgeon was a smaller version of Grumman Aircraft's Goose and initially featured in-line Ranger engines which gave the Widgeon a very elegant appearance. Engine modifications include swapping the Rangers for geared Lycoming “flat” engines such as has been done on the plane below.
Like the Grumman Goose, the Widgeon is indeed a rare bird and only 266 were produced. It is unknown how many of these are currently airworthy.
The Grumman Widgeon will carry six people and cruises about 140 mph.
